Hi there

I would like to ask for your help.

I would like to ask a girl a few questions (I have a lot of them). I mean, to write it. Could you please check for any errors?

These questions are asked by the guy, to the girl.

The first four of them:

Do you prefer watching films at the cinema or at home?
Где вы предпочитаете смотреть фильмы: дома или в кинотеатре?

Perfect height for a guy?
Идеальный рост для мальчика?

What's the best and worst thing about parkour?
Что самое лучшее и худшее в паркур?

Armwrestling. Anna versus Sasha. Who will win?
Армрестлинг. Анна vs Саша. Кто победит?

I have concerns about the last sentence. Armwrestling, in russian, it sounds like a loanword. Is it correct translation? I mean, is Армрестлинг understandable for everyone? Or is there any other, more common translation?
For example, in polish, it sounds QUITE different ("Siłować się na rękę", so we don't say "Hej, zróbmy armwrestling!", instead, we say: "Hej, siłujmy się na rękę!").

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

You have translated right, but there are several some little incorrects.

Perfect height for a guy?
Идеальный рост для мальчика?
Incorrect, because "мальчик" = "boy" (male person in the child age), "guy" = "парень". Must be said:
"Идеальный рост для парня?"

What's the best and worst thing about parkour?
Что самое лучшее и худшее в паркур?
Incorrect, because must be:
"Что самое лучшее и худшее в паркуре?"

Армрестлинг is absolutely understandable word for Russians, dont worry about it.

Have a nice day

Hi there

I have two sentences, that I'm trying to translate:

1. Good evening. Some time ago, you mentioned Taekwondo. Do you practice this? (I don't mean boxing with your sister)

Добрый вечер. Когда-то, вы упоминал Тхэквондо. Вы тренируетесь? (Я не имею в виду бокс с собственной сестрой)

The sentence in brackets is supposed to sound funny, she has a sister, and... well... they're sister so they're doing funny stuff.

...

2. I have a question, out of curiosity. Do you use gelatin on your hair every day, during swimming practice? Or only before the big competitions?

У меня есть вопрос, из любопытства. Применяете ли вы желатин на волосы каждый день во время тренировок по плаванию? Или только перед большими соревнованиями?

...

Where do errors occur?
Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Your version:
"Добрый вечер. Когда-то, вы упоминал Тхэквондо. Вы тренируетесь? (Я не имею в виду бокс с собственной сестрой)"
“Когда-то” is used to indicate a very distant moment in the past or future, so distant that it cannot be accurately determined. For example, "когда-то на Земле жили динозавры".
Corrected version:
"Добрый вечер. Некоторое время назад вы упоминали Тхэквондо. Вы тренируетесь (я не имею в виду бокс с собственной сестрой)?"

Your version:
"У меня есть вопрос, из любопытства. Применяете ли вы желатин на волосы каждый день во время тренировок по плаванию? Или только перед большими соревнованиями?"
"Любопытство", this word in Russian has a negative connotation, so the first sentence sounds a bit impolite. To gain polite it is good to use even the subjunctive mood here.
Corrected version:
"Мне хотелось бы спросить. Применяете ли вы желатин на волосы каждый день во время тренировок по плаванию? Или только перед большими соревнованиями?"

Have a good day

Hello again

How to say to a girl that she is my favorite sportswoman?

Моя любимая спортсменка.
Is this correct?

I don't want to say "my beloved sportswoman". Just a "favorite". Some dictionaries indicate that любимая also means beloved. I don't want to embarrass myself.

Is this word - спортсменка - appropriate to describe a girl (not a woman) ?
