Word from Vadim Zeland's method » answer
by kmlon (US), 2019-01-14, 19:26  Spam?
Would you please tell me the meaning of the word:
Косица - kositsy
After Google translation appears in 3 forms: kositsy, plait and braid.

«Косица намерения – это энергетическое сплетение, похожее на обычную косицу – она не видна, но вы её способны чувствовать, как фантомную часть тела… Она не свисает, а торчит под наклоном к позвоночнику… Это место между лопатками, только не возле самой спины, а немного поодаль» (Вадим Зеланд, «Тафти жрица»).

Also, please tell me if the words make sense and everything is well put together after translating the page (in Google); it looks like it is for most of the text.

Overall, I want to understand
1. how to activate the braid (СПОСОБА ОЩУТИТЬ КОСИЦУ is this the correct word?) and set intentions;
2. the difference between BRAID...

Here, the word "косица" is meaning the kind of a hairdo of long hair, such the hairdo is used by girls usually. "Косица" is the same that "коса". This is коса:

2 СПОСОБА ОЩУТИТЬ КОСИЦУ = There are two ways to feel your braid

Sorry, I have no something to say about difference between BRAID and PLAIT. You are English man, so you please tell me what this difference is. What about me, I dont know.

Thank you.
Braid and plait are similar words that define a way of doing the hair, as is in your picture.

Hi there.

Can you please help me with this:

Если ты мне написал.
И я не ответила ничего.
Напиши ещё раз.
И обломайся дважды.

I understand everything except the last sentence. Is it some sort of a sarcasm? Or just information? Anyway, what does it mean? Google translate gave me some weird translation.

Thanks in advance!
by demetries, 2019-01-10, 03:10  Spam?  81.25.79....

"Обламывать" is to break an end part out of whole piece of something. Also in Russian slang word "облом" means a feeling of a sudden disappointment, or situation when such the disappointment appears. "Обломить" is to give somebody the disappointment. "Обломиться" is to receive the disappointment. "Облом" is something near to "epic fail". If you do a great attempt, and this attempt had not brought a success, this is "облом".

Good luck

So, basically, it could mean that... "If you sent me a message, and I didn't write back, no problem, just send it once again, and embarrass yourself twice, because I will not answer you anyway" ??

Hello all, and thank you so much for the allowed access to your site!

We have what I believe to be a Pysanka Egg and painted with an inscription on the base I could use some assistance with!  I believe (through research the first word is Moscow "москв" using a Russian keyboard translation, but am having trouble with finding some of the the other characters in the second word (I can identify the н п щ in this inscription (and those do translate to n p u in English, however the 4 characters; 3 characters between and the 1 end character; are giving me some trouble!)

Here is the listing on our site for your review:

Thank you so much in advance for any review and assistance with this! :)

Problem is Russian handwritten letters are different from typewritten. I see the word "Наташа" ("Natasha") there, this is girl name, this word is only variant I can offer.

Good luck.

Hi Demetries, your time, input and review of this is so greatly appreciated (as well as the additional knowledge about Russian handwriting, was not aware of this previously). Thank you so very much!

Such a nicely detailed piece this is, and we truly appreciate the opportunity to learn more about other cultures and countries through these items we acquire, and to speak and learn from you (and others) about them is great!

Hope you day is awesome!

Can anyone please help me find my great-granddad Anthony Czarnecki's birth record on the Polish Archives Website, since I can't really read Russian at » answer

Can anyone please help me find my great-granddad Anthony Czarnecki's birth record on the Polish Archives Website, since I can't really read Russian at all? From what the Polish Archives told me (eye roll):

"W ksiqdze z 1904 r. parafii rzymskokatolickiej z Berznik zostat odnaleziony akt urodzenia Antoniego Czarneckiego s. Juliana i Aleksandry Andrulewicz."

Short translation: the record was found in holdings for Berzniki Parish under "Czarnecki". (You can guess who looked for ways to obscure our heritage again, thus the eye roll.)

[This was originally posted somewhere else. Long story short, we were Ashkenazi Crypto Jews, and my great-great-grandfather Julian Czerniecki went out of his way in attempts to conceal our heritage.]

Early 20thC Military idiom: сменным офицером + развивающимися флюгерами » answer
by commdv, 2018-08-08, 04:30  Spam?  58.7.144...
Translating a grandfather's journals, some phrases need more clarification than an online search can offer.

сменным офицером: literally, 'replacement officer', but the journal seems to use it as an actual rank rather than to describe a substitute. Perhaps it is like a 'duty officer' role?

развивающимися флюгерами: literally, 'developing weathercocks', but the journal seems to use it to describe an aspect of cavalry uniform or regalia.

Any guidance or expertise much appreciated. Thanks!
by rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, 2018-08-08, 09:44  Spam?  176.49.202...
"сменным офицером". Rather, it means such the officer, who replaces other officer somewhere.

"развивающимися флюгерами". Blunder is here. Must be "развевающимися флюгерами".
by commdv, 2018-08-08, 12:17  Spam?  58.7.144...
Excellent, thanks for your time and knowledge!
Grandfather's repeated use of развивающимися led to many hours spent on developing when it should simply have been flapping in the wind. Many thanks for identifying the error.
by Truhachev (RU), Last modified: 2018-08-19, 01:06  Spam?
1) The adjective сменный in the word combination "сменный офицер" derives from смена that also can mean  "duty" in the military parlance. In Russian they say i.g. " сменное дежурство" that means "shift" or" stand-by duty". That is why "сменный офицер'" will mean a "duty officer" or even an "officer of the day ".

It is so that the word "смена" has many senses and can mean:
change; changing; (замена) replacement; shift; (лошадей) relay, relief and other more.
See details here:

2) There is a difference between two verbs: развиваться ( to develop, to evolve; (прогрессировать) to progress, to advance, to be in progress )

In this case such the translation for this phrase would be better: "и в горе, и в радости". Whole sentence: "Я буду с тобой и в горе, и в радости". Or: "Я разделю с тобой все печали и радости". Variants which you called, all go not good for this case.
